Rythe Lythandas in his house in Cheydinhal

Rythe Lythandas is a Данмер commoner and a famous painter all across Киродиил. His secret is the Brush of Truepaint.

Before the related quest is finished, Rythe will spend all the time standing near to entrance to the painted world and once he has been rescued from the painted world, he will resume his usual schedule: Most of the day he will wander around his house, taking a break at 6pm to have his dinner on the table nearby for two hours, until 8pm. After a long day of strolling around his house Rythe will finally go to sleep at midnight and until 6am.

Rythe's attire consists of a brown shirt combined with tan linens and a pair of pigskin shoes. He also carries his key, an ordinary paintbrush and a paint palette along with a leveled amount of gold.

His house, which he shares with his wife Tivela Lythandas, is in southwestern Cheydinhal next door to Magrum gra-Orum's house. The small table right in front of the fireplace holds a copy of The Brothers of Darkness. The door on the southern wall leads to a room that holds the painting associated with the quest his wife gives. In the north corner of the first level a door leads to the basement, and two clutter barrels sit in the east corner at the foot of the stairs.

On the second level, the north corner at the head of the stairs holds a food barrel and a chest, desk, and three sacks that contain clutter. A novice scroll of Water Breathing and a bottle of Cyrodilic brandy sit on the desk. The east corner holds another food barrel and a table with seven radishes, two potatoes, two pieces of venison, a head of lettuce, a cheese wedge, and two bottles of Surilie Brothers Vintage 399. Another two clutter chests near the fireplace, one on each side. A food barrel and a chest that can contain gold and jewelry lie in the south corner, and a chest of drawers that holds clutter sits on the southwest wall with two яблокоs on top of it and a jewelry chest on the lower shelf. The two jewelry chests and the single sack are the only containers on these two levels that do not respawn.

In the basement another gold/jewelry chest sits in the south corner along with a clutter cupboard. A sack that also holds clutter sits on the southwest wall, and the west corner holds five crates and a barrel with the same contents. Three more clutter barrels and sacks sit along the northwest wall, with two more barrels and a shelf with drawers holding the same in the north corner. The east corner holds two wine racks that hold ten bottles of cheap wine between them near a table that holds a bottle of Tamika's West Weald Wine. On the southeast wall four more wine racks hold a total of sixteen more bottles of cheap wine along with seven bottles of Surilie Brothers Wine. Beyond the stairs to the main level sits a final clutter crate. The jewelry chest and the two sacks do not respawn but every other container in the basement does.
